Paris and New York, obviously two of the most influential cities in the history of culture, come together on Jack Wilson and Keor Meteor’s new EP “Enter to Exit” (Parliament of Strix Records).
Originally from Pittsburgh, Jack moved to NYC in April 2012 – around the same time Paris’s Keor had held an online audition via SoundCloud for MCs to feature on a mixtape + subsequent EP. Jack was one of the artists chosen, so with a fresh selection of beats in a pulsating new city and no TV or internet, he wrote 8/9 of the lyrics to “Enter to Exit” (along with a half dozen poems) during his first two months in NY. Since his studio was still in an extra bedroom in Baltimore, he recorded rough demos through his iPhone to send to Keor and thus began the process.
RICH QUICK RELEASES ‘TRAVELIN’ MAN’ REMIX w/ Reef the Lost Cauze & Rakaa Iriscience
“Rich Quick is smart without being condescending, witty without trying, he’s a natural. That’s a very rare trait in 2013. A kid that’s dope on the strength of being himself. Wake up or get woke up!” Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks
“Rich is one of the hardest working emcees of the new school and I would definitely classify him as a real emcee not a rapper, it’s a difference.” Jakk Frost
Right off the heals of his newest video, hip-hop artist Rich Quick is releasing a remix for “Travelin’ Man,” featuring Reef the Lost Cauze and Rakaa Iriscience of Dilated Peoples.
New Jersey native Rich Quick has been making waves in the Philly Hip Hop scene and is no stranger to many of Philly’s legends, from Vinnie Paz to Freeway to Reef The Lost Cauze. “They’ve been really supportive of me,” explains Quick, who adds it’s still huge coup to work with Reef. “He’s a very revered emcee here and is one of many acts who put Philly’s hip-hop scene on a national stage. To get Rakaa on the same track was a dream!”
“Travelin’ Man” is produced entirely by STREECE™, a formidable production duo comprised of Stress and Chuck Treece, who have worked with mainstream artists from Gym Class Heroes and Ghostface Killah to LIL WAYNE and local notable Bahamdia, among others. ‘Travelin’ Man’ is only the beginning of this man’s journey. Sad Songz will be released on Ben Frank Recordings in July of 2013.
Born in New Jersey, Rich has been part of the Philly hip-hop scene for over a decade. In 2002 he released his first solo project, Get Rich Quick which helped build the buzz for his follow up LP The Movement in 2004. By late 2005, Rich caught the attention of then Blakout Records President Ccelli. When Blakout Records dissolved, Quick linked back with Ccelli to join his roster at Exponent Entertainment, a Philadelphia based hip-hop management company. He began building his buzz in the Philly area by performing at various high profile shows and appearing on DJ NoPhrillz and Benja Styles mixtapes.
In April 2012 Rich Quick released the mixtape “I’m With The DJ,” hosted by DJ NoPhrillz and Benja Styles. By demonstrating a well rounded view of the art of emceeing, experimenting with song structure, unique rhyme patterns and flows, the mixtape garnered acclaim on websites like Allhiphop, The Source, RapMusic and more.
“Travelin’ Man” is only the beginning of this man’s journey. Sad Songz will be released in July of 2013.
After releasing his most solid work to date Sneakers N Loudpacks. Shad decided to re-release the video for his sneaker anthem “Kicks On Fire”. The video was shot by Ron Elliott. The song appears on the Sneakers N Loudpacks mixtape
