Smilo is real hip. That’s the first and foremost important element that he brings to the table when his name comes up in music circles. His undeniable flow, delivery, and even his ties to the hip hop world make him a viable candidate for being one of the REALEST HIP HOPPERS to come out of Pittsburgh. But that is just my opinion. After seeing him rock a stage with Gene Stovall (mind you the shared the stage that night with KRS One) I knew this artist had something special to bring to the music scene. Now, a week later I see him booked for some of the the dopest line ups Pittsburgh has to offer. With that being said, we had to dig up his first official video and get it out to our viewer immediately. SMILO is set to drop his debut album this June, entitled “Every Minute Counts”. And we believe he’ll make every second of that album count. Real hip hop is not dead, but it lives with artists such as this one. So, keep checking back for new releases from Smilo. We have a feeling his name will be very well known on this site in the next few months (hopefully years) to come. You heard it here first on RPHH!!!

Emanuel (formerly of the group Crave) has recently released a new album “Cuffin Season”. With his past ties to Pretty Ricky and Meanstreet Entertainment, this Pittsburgh native is no stranger to the spotlight and the main stage. As lead singer for Pretty Ricky under the name “Lingerie”, he has made more than 5 appearances on BET 106 & Park, has traveled the world, and performed in front of countless sold out crowds. Now pursuing his solo career, Emanuel aka Manny, has hit us with a brand new single entitled “Yo Body”, which we have the pleasure of bringing to you as one of our newest blogs under “The Leak” section. We will be releasing two more solo singles from Manny in the next week, so if you like this one stay tuned for more! You can share, comment, and like it…but remember where you heard it first. Introducing a new up and coming artist, Kemikel Ali!!
Richard Harris also known as ‘Kemikel Ali’ has been rappin’ since the age of 14. He was born and raised in southwest Philadelphia. His biggest inspiration in the hip hop genre came from his upbringing in the harsh urban environment in SW Philly.
Growing up with the influence of his family members, The Hip City Swingers, a rap group from the early 90’s straight out of SW Philadelphia, Pa.
They had a hit record called, I’m the Man, and are currently still residing in Philadelphia.
Kemikel Ali is just completing his recordings of the singles from his self produced debut album entitled Slanguage. The singles, ”When We Were Friends”, “On Deck”, “W.G.I.L. (What Good Is Love)”, “Foe” and more to be released by the indie label, 58 Street Records, in the spring of 2014.
Working along side Gruff, C.E.O. of 58 Street Records, and former producer/engineer of Hip City Swingers has helped Kemikel Ali develop his own unique style. Look out for more from this artist on the rise, as he will soon be in Pittsburgh for an interview on WAMO 100.1 FM and upcoming events. 2014 looks promising for Kemikel Ali, as he is exploding with his new releases! Check out his video below,
