The Rundown: Burgh Muzik The Showcase

I arrived at the venue, Southside 86 (new name Levelz) around 10pm and there was already a decent sized crowd. I was unfamiliar with the first few performers and frankly, their performances didn’t rouse me to get familiar. Though the DJ added a few scratches here and there, overall it was anti-climatic. Next, host Tjuan (Arruca Flyboy) announced that he needed 6 participants for a freestyle battle with the winner receiving a diamond watch from Kashi.  At this point, the crowd was thick. After a few rounds of freestyles that didn’t really hold my attention I opted to skate. Big ups to Mista Scrap for the illest bars, in my opinion.

On a positive note, photographer Tom Larkin was able to capture some amazing photos of some of the performances and the battle. Check them out HERE.

Shout out to Arruca Flyboy and KMK for organizing a great event! Also shout out to Clique vodka!

K-Mo and Ivory the Human Hustle

Here’s video of one performance I missed. See why they’re considered of the best live performers, here’s Justuce Street Poets.

The Rundown: Pac Div

This weekend’s event was Pac Div who came and rocked it out at Shadow Lounge. Admittedly, I never heard of these boys before this show but I am definitely a new fan. I was impressed with the crowd that showed up and their enthusiasm for Pac Div’s music. Shout out to Thomas (@Thomas_Jenesis) of Jenesis Magazine for putting together a great event.

Check out my favorite cut off their upcoming mixtape while you view the pics from the show.
