Beedie’s Above the Weather tour kicks off this Saturday April 14th in Pittsburgh with stops in Detroit and NYC (more dates tba).
Beedie is traveling with DJ Drastik and will be performing songs from his new project which is dropping on June 4th as well as the classics & some special suprises. Beedie has always been one of RPHH’s favorite performers so make sure you check him out if he’s in your city!
Editors note: Although I came up with the idea for DJ Appreciation month for RPHH in May, I’m kind of annoyed we actually need one, as if the DJ isn’t important enough as it is…

There are names on the Pittsburgh hip hop scene that have pretty much been etched in stone upon the legacy of urban culture that not only every one knows, but respects. Peer approval isn’t necessarily something one needs to be respected (trust me, I know) but it definitely helps (believe that). Drastik, the owner of the Soul II Sole sneaker boutique has been a stalwart member of the PGH hip hop community for over a decade. Not only as an ill DJ but as a supporter and a contributor, which I’ve noticed a lot of “founding members” of the PGH scene refuse to play a part in. Dras has been representing Pittsburgh on a global scale now with his custom gear being made famous by Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and Real Deal who happened to drop by mid way through the interview. After the interview, Drastik showed me some of the old mixtapes he put together in the early 2000s and even let me hear some BANGERS he produced for one of another urban legend, Black Sun. Check the interview below!
